COST Jet - reference plasma source for fundamental plasma science

The COST Reference Microplasma Jet

The COST Reference Microplasma Jet is a plasma jet designed as a reference source for research of cold atmospheric pressure plasmas and their biomedical application. The device was developed within the COST Action M1101 “Biomedical Applications of Atmospheric Pressure Plasmas”. The COST-Jet was envisioned to allow comparability of the results obtained by different groups working in the field of plasma medicine. The COST-Jet is based on the simple and robust design of the micro-scaled atmospheric pressure plasma jet (µ-APPJ). Mechanical and electrical design of the reference source were adapted, to prevent gas contamination and allow for a highly precise measurement of the dissipated power.

Since then, numerous other publication on the COST-Jet have been published.
